FYI: The backgrould to Tomas' question is a discussion we had in IRC.

In Tomas' case, the -fPIC seems necessary, while in all cases where we
used PicoLisp on ARM here it wasn't.


What's even more strange is the fact that in pil64 it always seems to be
necessary. The question is, in general: Why we don't need it in pil32?
Does the compiler automagically detect that the object code is for a
shared library?
