You can still save state, as it's the same visitor.  The only state the visitor 
is loosing is how it's walking.  But it still knows what nodes its on, which it 
switches to a nested plan, etc.  I can't think of a case off the top of my head 
where the visitor is limited by the fact that it isn't directly controlling the 
graph traversal.
