the question is: where is your store directory? Under

/var/piler/store

hmm. Where does that directory come from...?

it's the 'localstatedir' parameter of the configure script. By
default it's PREFIX/var, by default PREFIX is /usr/local

Usually I configure my systems as

./configure --prefix=/usr/local --localstatedir=/var ...

perhaps in piler.conf. Recently it became obsoleted, that's why you got
a warning.
Yes, it's in piler.conf. I followed the docs carefully. :-) I have
commented it out now.

I'll update the upgrade docs, and add this hint soon.
I'll keep an eye on the docs. :-)

Regards, and thanks for the great support!

you're welcome, however one things is unclear to me. You mentioned that
all your (earlier) emails from the antispam server is unavailable from
the archive. Could this be a possible localstatedir issue?

I see that you don't have /usr/local/var/piler/store/d1/2e/82/4000000050ec8c2c1ac77ddc0b6f59d12e82.m but do you have /var/piler/store/d1/2e/82/4000000050ec8c2c1ac77ddc0b6f59d12e82.m OR
/var/piler/store/50e/2e/82/4000000050ec8c2c1ac77ddc0b6f59d12e82.m?
