Thanks for your reply.

Correction: running 1.3.4 on OpenSuse 42.3, don't know where the other stuff 
came from.There is nothing in the log files that indicates any errors.
I have tried recreating the /var/piler/tmp folder to eliminate any filesystem 
behaviour and I am currently monitoring the server to find out if this has 
resolved anything.
