Ortho means orthochromatic while litho means lithographic.  In general,
    ortho and litho are different, with ortho just meaning a film not sensitive
    to red while litho is a very high contrast film, usually requiring a
    special developer.  Kodalith Ortho was both ortho and litho, while Kodalith
    Pan was litho but not ortho.  Ilford Ortho+ is ortho but not litho.  Is
    that confusing enough?  :-)

    Kodalith is a very high contrast film that is either black or clear and has
    no gray tones at all.  It's just the thing for making zone plates.  I think
    Contrast Process Ortho is a high contrast film, but not as great as
    Kodalith, and does not require the special Kodalith developer.  A bit of
