Frannie, The antibiotic is a neurotoxic drug. The class of antibiotics is Fluoroquinolones. I took Levaquin and this group also includes Cipro. I was given the Levaquin for a supposed salivary gland infection. No neurotoxic bacteria that I'm aware of. Then again since no doctor knows why in the world I've been so sick for over a year and never tested me for a particular bacteria I guess anythings possible. I personally can't believe as sick as I've been no doctor tested me for Lyme Disease or even did blood cultures. I was extremely allergic to Levaquin with angioedema, facial swelling, whole body swelling for 2-3 months and also damage or trauma of some type to my Trigeminal Nerve which I still deal with a year later. I've also had mouth burning, bad taste, yeast infections, swollen salivary glands etc. in my mouth for a year since I took this medicine. It was like poison to me. But, it's confusing because I did have the lump/infection in my cheek before I took the Levaquin, but none of the other symptoms. It's just very curious to me that my gettng sick started with that lump, my cheeks became chronically puffy and I never felt well again after this started in 4/02. I just really think it's a clue so I'm trying to find out if there are others with endocrine problems that possibly have thick saliva and other mouth problems. What is the NAET allergy testing? That is so interesting I've never heard of candida in the pituitary .....how did they find it on the MRI? What kind of metals are they finding? Also, did your thick saliva start when you were hyperthyroid and before the RAI or after the RAI and you became hypo? Lisa |
