Dear Keribug
There are other medications besides parlodel. If you do not tolerate
parlodel you should
be given a trial of the other meds. you have a very low prolactin level
which would make me suspicious that you may not have a prolactinoma. Be
sure that all of your other hormones have been checked as well, to be sure
that you do not have any other type of tumor. With an elevated prolactin
level, the medicine should still be given a try, even if you do not have a
prolactinoma. You may tolerate the other meds better but they all have side
effects. if you go on dostinex start with a very low dose and only increase
it very gradually. You may be able to get your prolactin down with 1/2 of a
dostinex pill once a week.

If you do not feel comfortable with your doctor then you need to find
someone who you are comfortable with. I'm not sure what part of the country
you are in. let us know the city and state and we can let you know if there
is someone who you can be referred to. If you do not tolerate the medicine
then they will usually watch it to see if it continues to grow and if you
are having any other problems from the tumor then they will consider
surgery.

Keep in touch and let us know how it goes. If the tumor is not causing you
any other problems at this time, and all of your hormones and symptoms have
been addressed, then you do not have to do anything about it right now, if
you do not tolerate the medicine. Don't feel bad and don't delay seeing
your doctor. Again, if your doctor isn't able to make you feel comfortable
then you need to find another one.

sharon
