Hello Maureen!!
So glad this is behind you!!! Thanks for the detailed explanation as well. I will pray for your recovery and all the best to you!!!
I am also excited to tell you that I also have "partial empty sella syndrome" and YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE I have found who has been diagnosed with the "PARTIAL EMPTY SELLA SYNDROME" and have found three others with "empty sella syndrome" who are all complaining of symptoms similiar to mine (though empty sella syndrome) is claimed to be symptomless!! Interesting I think!! Because I am convinced that the medical experts don't have a handle on the "empty sella syndrome" as they think they do. I am also excited since I also live in Las Vegas, NV and am still searching for answers and would like very much to learn more about your doctor's up there (if you are willing to share) as I may not have to go long distance to get some real insight into all of this. I just completed another stimulation test as of the 28th of this month (arginine) to determine if I may be adult growth hormone deficient. I was diagnosed with that back in 2002 here but was undiagnosed with that as of May 2003 at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota. I was ordered to stop taking the Super HGH supplements that was not helping my IGF-1 levels at all. In fact I have a new endocrinologist here who is formerly from Mayo Clinic and he is trying to check this out since he thinks my fatigue, my short term memory loss, my fogginess, my lack of interest in sex, my lack of interest in a lot of things may be the result of a growth hormone deficiency. I won't know anything from the results of the stimulation test for another week. Then I will have another meeting with my doctor to see if he suggests I go on injections. He had felt the super HGH supplements was a "farse" and not even something that was going to help me. He indicated he didn't think it would help me and the only form of adult growth hormone that would help are the injections. No one can really say why I have the empty sella and if there is a tumor still present. All they can tell me none is present from looking at the MRI's. I am worried ( like you) that one is present and there is one but it is not showing up. I don't think anything has been checked in my sinuses and if there is a problem there. I did have deviated septum surgery back in November 2003 at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale and they successfully corrected a "significant" deviated septum problem as well as removed a "bone spur" behind the septum that impeded my ability to breath well. Again they didn't even know the bone spur was there and I was told that contributed to my problems. Again, that spur was never seen on any of the films and the doctor told me that was rare. With that information I still worry they don't really know if I have a tumor that is really there. I am trying not to over react but I still experience such episodes of exhaustion, weakness, nauseated nearly daily and have headaches less frequent since they determined I have sleep apnea too and I now sleep with a CPAP nightly. Yet I am still having the headaches of approximately four a month or more. I also have pressure in my head a lot too. Anything you can tell me would be so so much appreciated Maureen!!! Looking forward to hearing from you when you are able to respond...thank you so much!! Continue to improve and feel much better!!
