Many of the members talk about how Dostinex has lowered their prolactin levels faster, and that they like the 1x or 2x  per week dosage schedule. What is also nice about the drug, is that your doctor can start you on a half tablet and work you up slowly,  so that your reaction/adjustment to the drug is spread out and not as severe.
 
MGH has a nice article about the drug when it was in clinical trial. You can read it here:
 
If you start having bad symptoms, they will reside in most cases over time as your body becomes adjusted to the medication. Your doctor will possibly start you on a low dose and gradulally increase your dosage.
 
I'm sure some of the prolactinoma patients can give you their experiences too.
