Wintersnowfairie,
Big hugs… You have been through so
much! The complications for radiation therapy for pituitary tumors mainly
involve loss of pituitary hormones. Over time, you will have to replace the
pituitary hormones as they drop off. You shouldn’t need radiation to
other areas. It is really important though, that if you do decide to have
radiation, to do some research on what kind of radiation that should you
proceed for your type of tumor. Many on the boards are discussing Novalis, and
there is sterotactic, gamma knife and cyber knife. Find out who is the best and
go there (even if it is travel). It is your life and you need to take care of
you.
Even if your tumor is slow growing, they
need to watch it. You will also need your endo to watch your hormonal profile.
There is no reason to hang you hat and be
done. I really feel that you will be around for a very long time. I think your
puppies are a wonderful emotional support for you, and I am really sorry that
your hubby is not as supportive as what you would like him to be. I can relate,
because my journey myself has been by myself (for the most part). I do pull strength
though from my husband, because even though is sympathy is shallow, he really
encourages me to get on with my life. We need that too, lest we hide from the
world and ourselves, and would never see the rose bloom, the birds sing, or the
waters flow through the streams.
I have also received very much needed support
from the online community, and for that, I am so grateful.
Don’t be a stranger. We love to hear
from you! We are also here to give you those internet hugs (but will leave
those furry kisses to the Miss Cinder!) Give her a good scratch behind the ears
for us!
