Wow Mike - It sounds like you have really worked hard to make your life as full as possible. I think we have gone that way with Jason also. I have let him be much more independent regarding his activities. We also bought him a motorcycle. It is actually a street legal dirt bike. I had sworn up and down he would not have a motorcycle while he lived in our house, but some how this illness made me reevaluate my position. It sounds like your pituitary gland is functioning fairly well if the only treatment you need is for thyroid and testosterone. I hope that Jason will have a good outcome like that also. Do you have a shunt from the original surgery? I hope that everything works out ok. I sat down with Jason this weekend and looked at all the different options. He decided since he would not need Physics to get into college that he would drop it. I think he made a good choice just for the logistics of getting him to doctors. Also, the rest of his classes are subjects that I can teach him if he is homebound for a few weeks. Physics would be a real stretch for me Anyway - thank you for sharing your history with me it helps to hear of another success story since manytimes those that speak out are the ones that have problems. I hope that someday you can get your pilots license. - Chris - Ogy's Mom |
