In my opinion, the "wait-and-see" approach can work. I was diagnosed with a prolactinoma almost 10 years ago, and that is pretty much what my care has consisted of - - taking the meds, and blood tests (at least 3 or 4 times a year). The prolactin level has come down tremendously, and the tumor has shrunk. In my case, however, my care has also included an MRI at least once a year, just to make sure nothing that would not show up (or show up quickly) in the blood work is going on.
I would push for them to take a peek at least once a year with an MRI, just to be safe.
