Chris,

Alot of the negative discussion from anti-depressents stem from many physicians reaching for the script first, before investigating underlying disorders such as endocrine disease. Many of us have had to struggle with some pretty wild emotional swings, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety... etc. We go to the doctor with our ailments, and many well meaning doctors try to help us "feel better" without checking to see if there is an underlying disorder. The psychiatric manifestations of endocrine disorders is well documented. I think that if some of our doctors would take time to check into physical disorders before writing us off as nut cases, we'd be a bit more trusting.

On the other hand, I am 100% behind getting help if you need it. I see a neuropsych myself, and he has left the door open to me, should things just get too difficult to bear.

You are a strong person and you are taking care of yourself. That is what counts.
