Hi all, my name is Kath. I was First diagnosed in June 2004 with hyperprolactinaemia, following MRI showing a 3mm tumor. I had complained of headaches for years and mostly for the last 2 yrs in which they were becoming more severe; throbbing. I also had milk leakage for say the past 14 yrs, and my GP would say it is nothing and not to worry. Which makes me wonder that if this is all related to being pregnant and not going full term due to having had 2 miscarriages.  I had the first 14 yrs ago due to an ectopic pregnancy and the other I was 6 mnths pregnant and had a car accident in which caused my uterus to rupture and the loss of my baby girl. Then one day I decided to go to a Woman's Clinic thinking I was becoming menopausal. I had full bloods done and Bingo ! High Prolactin Level of 585. Another was ordered before seeing the Endocrinologists at the local Hospital which was 417. He umed and rred before suggesting the MRI, which was most unpleasent, in which leads me here to this most important web site in my favourites list. I am so thankful for this web site as it has helped me get through some uneasy feelings in dealing with this tumor, the medication and just being able to relate emotionally to others and also venting. I now await further tests for Cushing's and need to see a cardiologist next wk due to side effects I had on the Dostinex. My levels went down to 71 after 3 mnths on the Dostinex, which I could not wait to stop. It gave me high blood pressure and palpitations, my heart had stopped 57 times for a few seconds as recored on the 24 hr halter monitor, hence the visit to the cardiologist. Cheers for now and thanks for this Chat room. xoxoxo OZ.
