I know exactly what you are going thru. I used to complain to Drs about severe fatigue, joint pains, headaches and face pain..... The reply I got was "If you were to lose weight etc etc etc. Until finally found a decent doctor who did listen and bless her heart she did try to find out what was wrong with me. She was getting ready to send me to a rheumatologist when I also asked her to please either xray or mri my head because of the pain ( head and face) She thought I might have trigeminal nerve. The MRI found a large 2.9cm pit tumor. She then pieced together all my symptoms and found I had been suffering from acromegaly. I think I probably had it as far back as 13-14years. My diagnosis came after many doctors and not one of them even phantomed that it was an endocrine problem. All of the symptoms were very upfront, joint enlargement, teeth spacing , severe fatigue, insulin resistence, elevated choles and triglycerides, facial changes, etc. In my experience (work in hospital lab) Drs don't seem to get enough training to enable them to think endocrine problems. You need to find a doctor that you are confident in and that you know has your best interest at heart. |
