Oldman - Thanks again. I know the hospital has intra-operative MRI so I assume they will be using it - I will ask about it before surgery but at some point we will have to leave it in the neurosurgeons hands [pun intended] and hope for the best while preparing for the worst. I suspect our guy may have been at that conference in Germany - he is a world renowned pituitary specialist. Nevertheless he picked up the phone and called me himself after reading my friends MRI! I must say I was very impressed by that - in Canada we don't pay our doctors directly and they are very busy.
Gerg - My friend had the same experience. His first 2 surgeries [a month apart] where by a neurosurgeon whose specialty was trauma but the opthomologist happened to know him. My friend is now wishing he had done what you did and got out of his office before he had the cranial. Can I ask if you found a big difference in recovery times between the different doctors and how long were your recovery times with Dr. Jho? Is your tumour non-functioning and was it large?
Dolglow - In my opinion you are walking in the right direction! |
