Dear Chris
My tumor has been proven chemically but can not be picked up by a MRI. I see an endocrinologist twice a year briefly to get an examination of my fingers and talk briefly about my blood work.  She says she knows little about my disease and consults with another neurologist She does a  GH tolerance test once per year and a MRI in the fall I go down 4 times per year for IGF factor blood test and never know the results. In my area I am basically on my own as my GP shows not much interest.Actually our town seems to have a doctor for 2 years so I am out on a limb and still getting more symptoms so decided I needed to take this into my own hands.
I am on Sandostatin Lar 30mg every 3 weeks and have soft tissue swelling in my pelvis causing  my bowels to back up. I guess having children caused a bit of a prolaspe. My hands swell and hurt but not my feet.
I have chest pain quite often as well and had an ekg and a stress test which showed cardivascorly I am 30 so that was good news. I am on cholesteral med and a diabetic due to the acromegaly. I suffer from fatiue periodly and some depression.  So really I want to get a grip on this. Thank youfor getting back to me.
