dolglow, I also had 3ed nerve damage which paralized my right eye. I could not even open my eyelid and when I held it open I could not move my eye up or down or right or lelft and the pupil would not dialate. My neuro-opthamalogist told me that there was a good chance of total healing because the damage was not allowed to last to long. I was able to open my eyelid in a few months but was left with severe double vision because my right eye did not move as far as the left and they no longer tracked together. This improved over the following few weeks and then stabilized with permanent double vision. I had surgery to realign my eyes and do very good in the straight ahead gaze but still have double vision when I look down, up or to the right. You can read about my story on the My Pit Story message board here. I am telling you this to encourage you that there is hope for improvement! My field of vision was not compromised so I have no experience with that, but others here have reported improvement following medication or surgery. My condition now is more of a nuisance than a serious problem. When I was resurching where to go for help with my problem I found two locations who had expertise in pit tumors and eyes, they were Vanderbildt University and UCLA. I had my surgery done at UCLA. I had to travel from Alaska for this surgery. You do need expert help and you should go where ever you need to find it. We will keep you in our prayers! I know how scary this can be! Daryl |
