Cat- don';t let them keep you on Anti depr4esents if you don't really need them. I was told for 14 years! that I was just 'depressed' I felt like screaming "Yeah- I might be a little down because something is going on with me & noone is taking this seriously and just trying to write me off!!!" I did go through about an 8 month bout of bad depression & although I may be 'down' now, I certainl;y know the difference between being down and being depressed now. If something is going on with you- go see a competent endocrinologist- insist on that. If you have a hormonal imbalance, then it is something that can be fixed & isn't something you have to live with. My docs had put me on antidepressants when I didn't even need them. The drugs did squat- my hormones were still messed up & I knew it was sdomething wrong- Finally, a new doctor asked me one question- he asked about libido which I said was not good & right away he said "You have hormone problems" From there, we found out I had a tumor and Acromegaly. If it wasn't for a doctor taking me seriousdly at last, I still would think that my weakness and exhaustion was just from my other condition (Crohn's disease) 14 years I went thinking that! Grrrr! |
