Blackout - scared and confused

Hi Pinky,

Sorry it has taken me awhile to reply, I just got back on msn and I am now catching up. I read your post with interest since I used to blackout often. Mine was attributed to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), optical migraines, and petit mal seizures. I suspect the hypoglycemia contributed to most of the episodes. I also had low-to-non-existent electrolytes. All of which could have caused my blackouts. I used to have them somewhat frequently, 1-2x/month, now I have them rarely. My pcp had me drink nothing but gatorade and water for months, which brought up my electrolytes and blood sugar. If I blackout now, it is usually one of my ever-worsening optical migraines.

I hope you can find what causes your blackouts, I know how scary it is to have them. I eventually got used to them and would know the warning signs, so I would be able to lay down or sit down before I blacked out.

Take care.
Meri
