This is one of the first times I've responded to this board, but I have been finding it extremly helpful. I was told I had a Pituitary Tumor about 15 months ago. I had a MRI in June of 03 which showed nothing, kept having blood pressure problems, headaches, feet and joint problems so they did a second MRI in Nov (mainly for the headaches) and found a small 1.5 cm tumor on my Pitituary gland. After some blood work ups they found my Growth Hormone was high and in Feb 04 I went in for surgery. The surgery wasn't bad, but I think it took me way to long to feel better. Up until Jan of this year I was still taking naps at lunch everyday. I was working full time but always so very tired I could barely make the hour and half drive home. Well I finally thought I was getting a head of the game, when they told me it looks like my tumor is back. I didn't handle it well and my doctors has me on 3, yes 3 antidepressents. He says it's to keep me balanced out?! I don't like being on them at all. My tumor now is 3-4 mm and located on my Pituitary Gland again. After surgery my nero recomended radiation, but my endro felt it wasn't necessary. After I got my 6 month MRI, it was see I told you that you didn't need radiation. Then in Feb (1 week before my year anniv of surgery, she told me it was back. Then said that there was no way possible to know if the nero removed all the tumor, but it's ok we can do radiation. Why wouldn't we of done it to begin with? Sounds like it is not uncommon for these things to come back. Like I said didn't handle it well, now I'm waiting to get in to see my nero to find out what he thinks, my endro wanted to wait a year before we made a decision, I told her that was to long. I wanted to check it in 6 months. I'm concerned because I didn't show the tumor and then suddenly it was there and I know they say "slow growing" then why didn't mine show up in the june report just 5 months prior to them finding the tumor. Don't know much about the next step, but very frustrated, I didn't expect this to come back again. Tammy |
