Thanks for sending me your opinions.  I will think about all this as I decide what to do next.  I did not mention that Dr. Vance is running a few more blood tests and repeating a couple, including the IGF1.  I think I've decided that if the IGF1 comes back the same (70) I'll do the surgery.
 
Jessica, Dr. Laws is very nice and will answer questions.  I did not like the fact that I had to see both Dr. Laws and Dr. Vance at the same time and they brought 4 residents/fellows with them.  But that's the nature of a University medical setting.  They were running late so they sort of dashed in and dashed out.  He left the decision for the surgery up to me and then said, "We can do it this Monday if you want to."  Whoa!  I just wasn't ready for that.  So I told him I wanted to think and pray about it.  He said to call him when I was ready and we would talk some more.  Please let me know how it goes for you.
