decision re surgery

Well, Surgery is not a first line treatment for non-functioning pituitary tumors that are microadenomas. If you simply have low GH, surgery will not improve your low GH and actually, it can cause you to have additional pituitary deficiencies. I must not understand your clinical case. The other disease that has a microadenoma and low GH is cushings, and that would indeed garner a recommendation for surgery as a first line treatment. I'd ask more questions and I'd still get another opinion. Surgery is a two or three opinion thing - even if it is University of Virginia. Minnie |
