Doh, I dunno what just happened, I had a long post & got messed up somehow- Well, Welcome back first of all. I hope other than the spells that you're getting that you feel relatively well? I just goit back from surgery this past monday myself. No, I do not gft the headaches. I did however have a bad 'spell' today myself to where I thought I was going to lose consciousness. it lasted about a 1/2 hour where it was quite unnerving, then it subsided, but left me whooped. I've had htese spells in the past- usually after stress of some kind hwere I over-tax my body. I'm not sure what's going on. When they hit, I have to really fight to actually remain conscious. I can't speak to anyone when it's happening, it's too much of an effort, and I feel really weak, and voices fade in and out and I get disoriented. Now, right after the operation, they put me on 5 mg of prednisone. Two mornings after the surgery, I felt really nauseus and thought I was going to throw up. I thought is was due to the prednisone, so I went to the endo. She told me that it could actually be from low cortisol, and so upped my prescriptionm to 7 1/2 per day. She also prescribed some kind of antinausea- but I couldn't afford it & Boston pharmacies wouldn't accept my N.Y Medicaid- so I went without and just hoped for the best. The nausea subsided, but I would feel very weak before the prednisone would kick in in the mornings. I'm still on the prednisone until my bloodwork indicates I can go off it, but to tell you the truth, I'm really dreading that day. I know I'm going to get weak. Your headaches should be cause for concern though. They tell you to watch for that because it can be sign of complications. Hopefully it's just withdrawal. You didn't go right off that dose of prednisone did you? Because you need tro wean yourself down to no prednisone very gradually. I went off Prednisone cold turkey once (Docs never informed me it was dangerous to do so) and I got a massive hewadache as well and felt verty bad after. Definatelt call your Doc right away- Donb't put that off. |
