Hey Hammerthumbs,

I have nothing to offer than empathy.  Sorry to hear the tumor hasn't shrunk yet.  After 1 year on Bromocriptine, my prolactin has dropped from 550 to less than 2.  But, after a year, it's still pretty much the same size.  Very disappointing.  One of my doctors at the Mayo in Rochester, MN (yep, that Mayo) said it may take a couple years.  You mentioned yours is pressing on the optic nerve, so I'm not sure of the implications.  I got really lucky and found it before that, so I think that "no growth = good" in my case, which means I can wait.  It may mean something similar to you, except the optic nerve thing is a yellow flag.  Carotid artery - yeah, me too.  Sucks.  If you have time/finances, it might be worth a trip or a call to the Mayo clinic.  They are so at the cutting edge of knowledge.  Also, you could check with the U of Toronto medical - their research is really good on this stuff.

I found out when I was 29, too, and I consider finding it a blessing.  Don't know, man - Minnie is right - it's tough even for a tough guy.  We've a similar situation with a few differences, but let me know if you have any questions or want to run anything by me.

Best regards,
Rob
