I saw the episode of "House", it was ok.  I do wish they had used an older adult instead of a child to show the results of cushings, There are a lot more adults that go undiagnosed than children and it is actually harder to diagnose in women.  They never did say or show how long it was since the surgery until they showed her much thinner, It may have been a while, maybe her 6 month followup?  Actually for some (me included) the weight comes off quickly.  I went from 195 to 142 in less than 2 months after the surgery.  Also, the danger of the surgery has to do with the position of the pituitary gland, base of the brain, right in front of the optic nerve. Any time surgeons open your head to cut something it is dangerous.. :-)
