I have a non-secreeting tumor. The "forgetfulness" part is extremely aggravating. I get so mad at myself. I think it is something we pit patients just have to learn to live with. Another extremely annoying thing is when I am in a food store and I buy the wrong item. For example, last week I wanted by buy grapefruit juice, and was absolutely certain that I put grapefruit juice in the cart, and when I got home, I found I bought orange juice(which I hate). You just have to be extra careful.. I do things like make lists before I go to a store. It helps. Yes, there have been times when I have forgotton to bring the list! But the fact that I wrote things down still helps me remember. I always put by watch, keys, glasses, cell phone--things I must have with me, in the same place all the time. I have a rule that I never, ever, let my car keys be loose either in the car or in the trunk, and so far I have not locked my keys in the car or trunk . When I have mail to go out, I make sure to always put it in the sun-visor of the car the night before. If I leave it in the house, I am almost guaranteed to forget it. I place things that I want to take with me when leave the house in the morning right by the door the night before. If it is somethiing that can't be left by the door, i put a note on the door. Notes help alot. It is all part of living with a handicap. greg |
