Maybe I wasn't clear? The tumour was "a giant". The surgery was completely endoscopic - in the operating room for 3 1/2 hours [MRI before going in] then in "Step-down ICU" for one night - in a regular room without IVs for another night. No packing - the only pysical sign of surgery were "staple" marks from putting his head in a frame during the MRI [after the MRI he had "spaceman" buttons on his forehead and around his head - I imagine so they could line him up on the operating room computer]. A nose "snuffer" for less than a day [ this catches the drips] altho the doc said "he had more bleeding than I like". A bit of a headache [which he still gets sometimes, it will be 3 weeks tomorrow, he is out building a fence right now!] a bit of stuffiness and he slept a lot for the first 2 weeks. Every once in a while a clump of guck comes out when he blows his nose. That is about it. |
