Hi-

I have been hypopit since age 8 when i stopped growing suddenly- no tumor or anything my pit just never developed and it worked just for a short period of time. I took Gh from age 8-18 and will be starting it again as im told its beneficial. As a child i had no adreanal issues at all- just took synthroid & Gh, now as an adult i need cortisone as my adreanal function is very poor. What i have learned from being hypopit is that things/ levels are always changing and according to my endo always will. Sometimes im doing great sometimes not so much. The way i was told to look at all these meds ( gh,synthroid, cortef, hormones) is that its a supplement to what your body is not producing on its own. yes there are side effects- but they all should be beneficial per my doc- more stamina, energy, longer life span. I dont like taking my cortef( steroids) at all, but i do function better on them than off. I, fighting to get my synthroid rasied as even though the blood work says its ok, i still suffer from many hypothyroid symptoms. Dosing is tricky- and make sure your son is tested often.
best of luck and be persistant with your endo-
