I just deleted my poorly edited and angry post from Sunday night and will attempt to be objective in this post. Three months after my surgery I had an MRI that showed 'something' in the right side of my pituitary, possibly inflammation or scar tissue from surgery. Three months later a new MRI indicated an 8mm adenoma on the right side plus sinonasal inflammatory disease. An MRI in April indicated the same thing. What I've learned is there is really no way to tell without another surgery. Your pathology report should give some indication as to the tumor and what it really was. Often pituitary fibrosis and pituitary imflamation will mimic the the appearance of a pit. tumor on a MRI. Also, inflamation of the pituitary (hypophysitis) can not be diagnosed without surgery-- it's usually diagnosed aftter surgery for a misdiagnosed adenoma. Good luck and I hope your next MRI is more favorable... time sometimes heals those funny looking places on the MRI. |
