I can understand. It took a long time to develop a trusting relationship with my physicians before they would level with me on my own endocrine issues. ![]() I don't know if it is because they are trained to 'soften the blow', or if they are trained to 'be the doctor', or if they just don't know how to give unfavorable news. I've met alot of patients too, who want their doctors to be the decision maker, and quite frankly, they don't really want to know the truth. Then there are folks like me, and you, who want to know the dirt... lol. ![]() Why don't you assume that perhaps he didn't want to upset you at your appointment? I know one of the most heartbreaking things to hear post op is that there is still tumor left. I think it would benefit you to have a talk with your endo to ensure that post op, all of your hormones are in complete balance. It is possible, that even with a non-fuctioning tumor, that you could have some hormonal deficiencies post op. Also, it may take a year for your pituitary to completely adjust after surgeries. I say this because that may be the source of your headaches - hormonal adjustment. I know for me, I had wretched headaches for about 4 months post op. Then one day... they were gone! ![]() As far as finding the letter issue, I am glad your husband is a physician and is able to help you. Most of us are in the boat of 'if it ain't in the electronic record...' lol. In major hospitals, many of the physicians have private patient files in addition to the 'official' patient file. If you didn't know this, you know it now! ![]() I know one of my physicians shared a letter with me re: some vertigo issues I had. Truthfully, it was a relief that I finally understood my 'official' diagnosis with the vertigo, but I had alot of questions on why the man didn't tell me to my face everything he wrote my doctor. Oh well... focus on the important things - that being that you get over your surgery and get better! Hope this helps! Minnie |
