Jess,
Any change in endocrine levels, for you in particular, are significant. Are you being seen at a pituitary center? Your symptoms are more important than the blood work. For instance, if my T4 drops two TENTHS my blood pressure goes up and my growth hormone level can double! When I went off oral estrogen my growth hormone level doubled and my T4 shot up (I did not know that taking oral hormone replacement can halve the replacement value of GH or estrogen....most DOCTORS do not know this). Each hormone in your body must be kept monitored for your norm. Generally a post operative pituitary patient who suffers any loss of function must be kept in the high range of normal to operate at normal. This requires quarterly monitoring by blood work and CONSTANT monitoring by the patient for symptoms. When my thyroid is low I am constipated and get muscle cramps and I am forgetful. If I notice these symptoms it helps to confirm along with blood work what is going on. If you go to a pituitary center and stay in the loop on pituitary issues you are much more likely to feel better because this is a difficult illness to stay on top of. You can call me if you want: 503-757-9663. Jean in Oregon |
