My son, 12, has been on growth hormone for several years, and thyroid medicine. We're now told that he needs to take steriods in order to have a normal puberty; and that he will never ever be able to stop taking them. Can anyone refer me to research or information regarding this? Has anyone also had a similar situation? We have no tumors or other abnormalities in the pituitary - other than it has not been producing the hormones.
He just recently had the adrenal test which shows that is not working properly either - so the steriods. HELP. THANKS
