Yes, you should ask. It is true, that some people cannot tolerate the meds (dopamine agonists) to lower the prolactin. Hyperprolactinemia can lower estrogen levels, and can cause osteopenia and even osteoporosis. Many have some other unpleasant symptoms such as some weight gain, emotional swings, and even depression. Elevated prolactin imbalances the sexual hormones too, and when those are out of balance, then there is another mixed bag of symptoms, including loss of libido.
 
So... talk with your doctor and see what he/she says. You might ask too about a bone density test to screen you for osteoporosis.
