I thought I would never get pregnant when I was
taking Bromocriptine. After I was switched to Dostinex within 3
months of taking it I became pregnant. Before that I hadn't had
irregular periods so it was difficult for me to realize if I was pregnant
because Dostinex made me feel Queasy and nauseated and I was always
irregular on periods sometimes not even having one. Whenever my
breast hurt I would buy a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side since
I was taking the Dostinex. I had alot of complications during my
pregnancy- I developed Asthma which I was told was due to the pituitary
tumor - very weak immune system - I was hospitalized with the flu - and
constant UTI'S. My prolactin levels were 480 while pregnant - 3
doctors suggested I stay on Dostinex during the pregnancy - I did for some
time but didn't feel like I was being fair to the baby because no one could
guarantee me if it would harm him - he was born with double hernias , he
needs surgery to repair his penis and he was born very small weighing only
5 pounds - be careful if you become pregnant - ask questions and go with
your instinct - I am sure other women who suffer with the same tumor might
of had good pregnancies - My first pregnancy went fine but the 2nd
wasn't to great - I was advised by my 3 doctors to get my tubes tied to
avoid getting pregnant and being so sick. Best of luck and God Bless
- during pregnancy my headaches were so bad I had to be on bed rest for 3
