Hi everyone, at last...........my son is going into hospital overnight on Thursday at 7pm for tests for his cortisol levels.
Apparently, after these tests he has to do a 24 hour urine test too.  Is this also for checking cortisol?
I'm afraid that I don't know very much about what is going on at the present time as these abnormal levels in his blood have been found over the past two months.  However I am sure that he has had problems for much longer than that but he was referred to our local mental health team as he was so terribly depressed and had self harming thoughts.  I am hoping for a posiitive outcome.
What usually follows the cortisol tests?
Does everything take so long to sort out?
Really I think that he has been unwell off and on for quite a few years now but things came to a head in August 2004 when he had had enough of life and became so despondant.
Any views would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks (in anticipation)
Also thanks for such a wonderful group full of information and friendly chat.
Bye for now,
