Problems with vision

Hi Rowster,

I agree with Minnie, you should see a neuro-ophthalmologist soon and have some tests done. It is common for pit tumor patients to have floaters, double vision, poor night vision, and even blurry vision. You need to see a neuro-ophth to check if your tumor is causing mass effect and pressing on the optic nerve.

I have all the above-mentioned vision problems, including flashes of light and even temporary blindness. I was diagnosed with severe optical migraines (I can loose my sight and even blackout completely.) My symptoms started in 1997 and have gotten much worse over the years. I also have daily 24-7 migraines that I treat with indomethacin. I believe all of my vision problems are directly related to the pituitary tumor. My neuro-ophth told me that the tumor redirects blood-flow, which can cause less blood flow to the optic nerves and important vessels to the eyes. She believes that causes my vision problems. My tumor is not currently pressing on the optic nerve.

I hope you find your answers, soon. It is very important for all pit tumor patients to see a neuro-ophthalmologist.

Take care.

Meri
