Not sure what happened there, I just know that
sometimes things happen for no reason at all. There probably isn't a clear
scientific explanation to it and lets hope that it indeed did drop and it wasn't
that the lab changed their range (or their scale of results) and that it was no
mistake. If her levels have dropped with no explanation....well that IS a GREAT
thing!!! And lets hope the levels stay down!!!!
I do think diet can sometimes make a big
difference, I have tried it on myself. I have Cushing's disease for the second
time and not a prolactinoma though, so things are quite different. I do think
diet "could" potentially cure someone....but there need to be a tremendous
amount of willpower involved and depending on which hormones function, don't
function, or over function.....that can be tremendously hard. I have always been
a person with VERY intense willpower.....I find myself trying diets and lasting
only a few days or weeks, sometimes not even a whole day on a diet.....sad but,
I think sometimes the body is also working against us overproducing hormones
that are telling the brain we are always hungry or that we need to eat because
we have no "nutrients" (none that are absorbed anyway, but according to the
body....it is starving)
So it can be hard and you do need lots and lots of
willpower. I'm glad you are supporting your daughter so much with her diet, it
really helps to have that support.
