Testosterone/tumor Question

I had stereotactic radiotherapy about a year and a half ago. This is the type of treatment that delivers small doses of radiation for a longer course of time. I had it 5 days a week, for 5 1/2 weeks. During treatment the effects weren't so bad (fatigue, a little nausea, hair loss). There are studies that suggest that radiation may lead to further deteriation of the pituitary gland. So far, I haven't lost any more pit functions yet, but the tumor probably did more damage than the radiation did. When I looked at the options, I really didn't have much choice, as my tumor was so large and invasive that the odds of it growing back (and probably very aggressive)were incredibly high. Anyone with any ideas on long-term effects of low testosterone levels? |
