Bill surgery date is set for Nov.3 at 8am. We meet with the Neurosurgeon and ENT and his psychiatrist all this next week. I talked to Bill's endo some more about everything that's been doing and he really feels this is the next step for us. He says he has researched Bill's case extensively and he also drew blood for another GH assat early last week. He feels they will be able to leave the back half of the pituitary intact in order to avoid problems with his kidneys. I know it's a scary surgery but at this point I am praying for the best. Bill's situation is just so odd because his acro was cought so early before he even had serious symptoms or before his tumors grew very large. I know it's a big step but we also have to weigh it against long term radiation and memory problems caused by that and added stress from all that could unbalance his bipolar disorder. It's a true balancing act with him. Luckily he is very good about taking all his pills (although I have to fuss about reminding him to use his testosterone gel) so I do not anticipate any problems with him adding the additional meds required after the surgery. Thanks for all the positive comments from those living without a pit. We do understand that this is not something to be taken lightly or undertaken in haste. The prospect of surgery has been looming since April and even before that when we knew the first surgery did not work. Keep us in your prayers please.
