they can treat it- your not blind yet which is good news, and you should have a fairly good recovery chance- however, IF you do wait, you coul;d go blind and or your pituitary could be destroyed completely. The scans are no big deal- really- they don't hurt and are quick. The surgery isn't even that big a deal- I was out the next day from the hospital- a little woozy, but just fine. Not everyone is as fortunate, but if you go to a qualified surgeon, chances are great that you will recover in no time at all, and the newer endonasal surgeries are really becomming the rage so to speak as far as quick recovery. It really was a non event almost for me. Not sure what hortmones are messed up with you, but it might be something you really don't want to put off getting fixed- they can really cause havoc if left untreated for too long. No- I don't think it will turn out to be terminal- I think you've worked yourself up too much over htis- (I don't blame you- I did too) but after the surgery, I kinda luaghed because I got so nervous over it & it turned out to be almost a non event lol. Get it checked out- the tests are kind of a pain just because you gotta get a couple of different blood tests, but it's no big deal- The MRI is also no big deal. As the poster above said- 99% of tumors of the pituitary are benign- not terminal. |
