Tumor may be caused by parasites?

When I worked for a naturopathic doctor a couple of years ago, we got alot of literature (mostly junkmail) that claimed that everything from fatigue to cancer was the cause of things such as: fungus, parasites, sugar, fluoride, mercury, hormones in the food supply, etc. I've read up on alot of alternative therapies and medicines, and alot of these theories seemed fairly dubious to me.
So, I'm doubtful, but mostly because I don't believe any study has yet found a strong correlation between fungus/parasites and tumors of any nature - and also because most literature I saw that referred to these things as a cause of _____, they were all trying to sell me something!
When I searched for causes of pituitary tumors, I couldn't find ANYTHING that indicated that there was anything close to a definitive cause of the condition - so I highly doubt that a case of athlete's foot correlates to your tumor.
