acromegaly and fibromyalgia

Count me in that show of hands. My GP says I either have chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia, though he didn’t seem too committed to any particular diagnosis, nor did he have any offers of treatment/prevention (“just stay healthy and stress free” he says!). I do have verified (by blood test) chronic Epstein Barr. That’s the virus that causes Mono, and in rare people (including me, unfortunately), it crops up with mono like symptoms when my body is run down or stressed. Some doctors say chronic fatigue and Epstein Barr are related, some say they aren’t. Some say fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue are related, others say they’re not. And some say the two are actually the same thing with slightly different symptoms varying from patient to patient. It’s all a big controversy and confusing mess. My doctor said something that made sense in a sad sort of way – he said they’re both “wastebasket diagnoses” – the only way to say that yes, you have it, is to rule out everything else.

I definitely have unexplained fatigue, intermittent restless leg syndrome (it got very bad when I was pregnant), random unexplained chest pain, aches and pains all over, sudden and severe calf pain for no reason, sore hands and arms, intermittent sore legs, etc. etc. Fibromyalgia fits the ticket.

I am receiving treatment for my acromegaly and control diabetes type 2 by diet.

PS Just had MRI and tumour did not show up again.

Your imput would be apprecitated.

Thank you.
