I understand that a generic "DDAVP" was made available on January 29th.  I am a little hesitant to try it since I am recovering from switching cortisone.  My pharmacist told me that my basic cortisone acetate wasn't being manufactured anymore so I was switched to hydrocortisone - generic Cortef.  Oh my, I have regressed back five years to when I was first diagnosed.  So I called the manufacturer and as of Friday I am back on my regular cortisone that I have been on for five years.  Starting to feel better.  My insurance company does not want to pay for DDAVP - only the generic which is very interesting because the difference in cost is 5 cents to 5 dollars - depending on where you purchase it.  I was told that the only reason they want me to have the generic is because the insurance company gets a much bigger "kick back" from the company - located in Isreal.  Just curious if anyone has tried the generic desmospressin acetate and if they have had any problems with it.  I am panhypopitutiary.   I don't post much but sure have learned alot from this site.  Thanks.
