Rick. It is extremely important to have experienced neurosurgeon. There is very experienced famous pituitary neurosurgeon in your area: Dr. Edward Laws at University of Virginia Health System at Charlottesville, VA. Here is their website: http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/internet/neurosurgery/In order to successfully remove your tumor neurosurgeon should perform at least 200 surgeries on pituitary tumor. Dr. Edward Laws performed way over thousand of pituitary surgeries. I highly recommend to postpone your surgery with Dr.Mitchell and schedule appointment with Dr. Edward Laws first. Remember, it is your life. You shop around before buying a car; you should do the same with choosing a doctor. You don't have to be nice customer, but you must be wise customer. Good luck |
