Hey there. Have been checking the boards regularly but haven't had the chance to reply. Thanks so much for the comments - I learn so much on here and it all helps me cope that much better. I am delighted to say that the feedback from my neuro and his endo colleague is that I do not necessarily have to go in for surgery just yet. We're trying an increased dosage of Bromocriptine (now 30mgs) and will see how that goes. Hopefully my prolactin will decrease from the last result - 103.3. I will be tested again over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed. I am coping Ok with the increased dosage. I really think I'm one of the luckier ones as I haven't suffered from most of the side effects others have on Bromocriptine. Finally, a HUGE thank you for the advice to see an endo very soon. I hadn't even considered this. My GP & gynae both gave me the impression that this is the neuro's specialisation, so I hadn't even considered that somebody else might be better informed. You've got me thinking about other hormonal difficulties and weakened bones, so I definitely would like to consult with an endo asap to check all that out. Thanx again! Jozi |
