The good news is that hyperprolactinemia is easily treated!. With your MRI coming back "normal", the doctor wants to retest you in 2-3 months to see what the levels come back. You have time, and for now, if I were you, I'd worry more about the surgery at hand, recover, and see the doc in about 2 months or so.
 
If you prolactin comes back elevated again, he may do some testing to try to figure out what is causing the mild elevations. I know in my case, my doctor thought my hypothyroidism was causing my mild elevations. Sometimes, drugs can mildy elevate prolactin too.
