Hello All I've finally got something simple but positive ![]() to write and just wanted to say this in case others of you out there are going through something similar. You probably know this already and I know I must sound pretty thick but it's about the timing of taking your meds and how it affected me. Started taking Dostinex in December - it was the most awful vile drug I've ever taken and my body just couldn't get used to it. Last week I was at my wits end and wanted to throw in the towel. I'd been taking it regularly at 8pm twice weekly like my endo instructed and boy was I paying for it the day after. It made me wired till about 2am then I felt exhausted, achey, hung over the next day and couldn't function. Endo kept saying keep going, keep taking it at night, you'll get used to this, it can take a few months to adjust. Anyway had a stroke of genius the other day and took it at 2pm after my lunch. Well guess what - felt fine till about 9.30pm when I was suddenly very very sleepy. I slept like a baby through the night and woke up the next morning feeling slightly dozey. This wore off as the day went on and I was actually able to go out and about and get on with my life, something I haven't been able to do on a Wednesday or Saturday for most of this year. Yes I probably win the award for stupid patient of the year but I cannot stress how much difference altering the timing of taking this drug has made to me and how you should sometimes listen to your body instead of your endo. Perhaps there's a light at the end of the tunnel after all........ Lots of Love to you all Pet xx ![]() |
