Ok, men, this question won’t pertain to you. You may not want to read this at all.

Ladies, I know everyone here has had weird cycles, missed periods etc. so I’m hoping to get some info from someone this has already happened to. I was absolutely set-the-clock-every-28-days from my very first period until the summer before my surgery (age 18). At that time I missed 3 periods in a row, which the doctor attributed to stress (I say tumor!). I got pregnant right after my surgery then when my daughter was born I went right back to having periods every month (despite nursing and despite the doctors saying I wasn’t going to have any more periods). It very gradually spread out and became somewhat irregular ever since and has gotten to coming every 6-7 weeks recently. Even though I go so many weeks in between, the period itself has been regular (rather heavy I suppose in the beginnings though). Until this month. And I’m in a slight panic not knowing what’s going on and whether I should worry or if it is just something that comes with the territory so to speak.

This month I thought I’d started my period, then it went away for a day and a half (never done that before). Then it came back and lasted for 9-10 days (it’s normally 6-7, never lasted longer before). It finally stopped 4 days ago. But something’s weird last night and today. I’d say it’s started back up (even some mild cramps) except it just isn’t, well, “normal” bleeding.

So sorry if I’ve grossed anyone out (men, I warned you!) but I’d really like advice here! (private emails preferred)

BTW my tumor is/was acromegaly with elevated prolactin as well because of the pressure on the pit gland. My hormones have been borderline normal (lower end) up until my last blood tests last fall.

Thanks!
