I posted this info in the Non-Scereting board and received a response from a member who thought I sounded hypopit. I don't intend for you all to diagnose me, but I would like input from others who might share my symptoms. I am preparing to get a referral for an endo and want to be armed with some knowledge. Thanks for taking the time!
I am 30 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 6 yrs. ago. Last yr. I was diagnosed with a non-secreting pit. tumor that drs. insist is not affecting my health as ONE prolactin and growth hormone test wasn't abnormal. HOWEVER, in the last two years I have developed the following symptoms with little explanation. High blood pressure, depression, extreme fatigue (initially attributed to depression, but no physical changes after taking anti-depressants), frequent changes and escalation of blood sugar & cholesterol levels, frequent changes in TSH, skin sensitivity causing burning to touch, headaches, inability to focus and concentrate, severe skin irritation of my eyes, unexplained weight gain at the rate of about 6-8 pounds a month, chronic heartburn. The drs. solution has been frequent changes in my thyroid medication (up & down, currently 125 mcg), blood pressure medication, and antidepressants but I don't feel any better. I cry less but still don't feel like myself.
I am starting to feel like a hypochondriac. I am wondering if any of you with knowledge and experience think that I could be affected by the pit. tumor. I was sent to a neurologist for it but now feel like an endo is the better bet. When I research it seems my symptoms are all over the place and don't pinpoint a specific pit. disorder. Any input/advice would be appreciated. I'm in Pennsylvania.
Thanks! Janel |
